As part of the ECA Project, young participants from Youth Exchanges in Italy (22 – 30 August 2024) and Portugal (16-24 September 2024) came together to discuss and share their vision for the future of Europe. Through engaging workshops and open discussions on the topic of European Citizenship, they developed key recommendations aimed at making the European Union more inclusive, sustainable, and youth-friendly.
From calls for gender equality and equal pay, to stronger environmental policies, better communication with young people, and greater opportunities for study, travel, and self-development, the recommendations reflect the diverse perspectives and aspirations of Europe’s next generation.
The young participants also highlighted the importance of social justice, integration of refugees, eliminating poverty, and promoting peace and human rights both within and beyond the EU’s borders. They stressed that youth voices must be heard and taken into account by decision-makers to create a Europe where everyone can belong and thrive.
These infographics serve not only as a visual representation of their ideas, but also as a reminder of the power of youth participation in shaping a more equitable and united Europe.
